I’ve heard so much about pea protein. But what is pea protein? I think it’s simply a plant based powder made out of peas. It’s usually used to increase the protein content in smoothies and shakes. It’s also used in some packaged foods like veggie burgers, vegan mayo and a subsitutute for dairy in some ice creams. Pea protein is made from extracting the powder from green and yellow split peas. The peas are the same ones used to make split pea soup. Pea protein is a healthy alternative to whey protein and other animal derived powders. There are also several other types of powders such as soy protein, rice protein, and hemp protein.
The pea is most commonly the small spherical seed or the seed-pod of the pod fruit Pisum sativum. Yes, peas are a fruit because they have a seed.

It’s always fun to learn something new! So I recently started researching how to indoor garden. My interest sparked from the last couple months of staying home and wanting more greenery inside my home. There are other important reasons for example, apartment living or extreme seasonal weather. I chose to grow a mini fruit and veggie garden from Urban Leaf which came with great directions for getting started and how to have a healthy indoor garden. I actually have both an outdoor and indoor garden so I can’t wait to see what I enjoy better. My outdoor garden which you can read more about here, is doing fabulous! I’m so intrigued by this word Ashwagandha that I decided to do some research on it. Pronounced ash-wa-gand-ha. It’s considered the King of Ayurvedic Herbs. Withania somnifera is the official name of this plant that is also known as Indian ginseng or winter cherry. It’s a small evergreen shrub plant in the Solanacease or nightshade family. It’s grown in India, parts of Africa and the Middle East. The root is used to make the substance that is crushed into a powder that makes up the medicinal properties. The berry doesn’t taste very good but is used to propagate for future planting.
Four billion people today live primarily on a plant based diet. That’s alot of the world trending towards a plant based diet and this global shift is here to stay. Some are celebrities, some athletes, some millennials and even entire large companies have made the shift of this healthier lifestyle. Some of the reasons due to shortages of freshwater, energy or cropland. Some due to animal welfare, health or food security. Everyone has a different reason for starting a plant based diet and all the reasons are important for that person. I can think of so many ways to walk at home but I’m going to focus on just 10 ways to walk at home. Walking at home leads to a healthy lifestyle that helps maintain good health and prevent disease. With the gym limitations in some areas, it’s important to find ways to walk at home. In my opinion, to walk from home is the most convenient and safest for me. I’ve adjusted my home to fit my needs for exercise by purchasing an elliptical machine and setting up a workout area in my home. The whole family is always encouraged to join in the routine to walk at home either walking the dogs or in the new workout area.
