What is Wildgrain Bread?
Wildgrain bread is a healthy, subscription-based baked goods delivery service. Once you sign up for a membership, your items are shipped directly to your door. Store the baked goods, pasta, and pastries in the freezer until you are ready to bake them. It’s the convenience of the local bakery right at your fingertips.
The dough they use for their products is nutrient-rich and doesn’t contain any artificial flavors or bleached flour. Since their sourdough bread goes through a long fermentation process of 20+ hours, the nutritional benefits are greater than store-bought bread. The sourdough loaves give you all the freshness of a local bakery.
How Much Does A Wildgrain Subscription Cost?
A subscription service to Wildgrain costs $89 per box. Each bakery box contains a mixture of sourdough bread, delicious pasta options, and artisanal pastries made from clean ingredients. There is an option to change your delivery frequency, skip a month, or cancel the subscription at any time with no fees. At this time, there is no option to purchase individual items, only the bulk order. The boxes that are delivered each month come with 30+ individual meals.
What are the Benefits of Sourdough Bread?
Sourdough bread is a fantastic option to incorporate in your diet because it is healthier than other bread options. This type of bread is easy to digest and is better for anyone with a gluten sensitivity. It provides healthy bacteria for your body, less yeast, and fewer preservatives than other bread you may buy. The lactic acid produced from the leavening process is what gives sourdough bread its “sour” taste.
It is also said that sourdough bread helps promote healthy aging and can keep your blood sugars in a healthy range. If you eat sandwiches or consume bread with daily meals, try sourdough as a healthier option. There don’t seem to be any negative aspects to consuming sourdough bread.
Is Sourdough Good for Weight Loss?
Sourdough has been shown to be a great option for those trying to lose weight. Fresh sourdough bread itself won’t make you lose weight, but it’s a healthier option than your classic loaf of fresh bread. Sourdough bread has a great effect on your metabolism because it has a lower glycemic index. The positive health benefits would surely outweigh the negative when it comes to sourdough bread.
How Long Does the Bread Last?
According to the tips provided with the Wildgrain box, it helps to keep your bread cut side down. This lets less air get to the inside of the bread, keeping it nice and soft. If you have a bread box, store your uneaten bread in there. If you don’t have one, a kitchen towel or paper bag works just as well.
I usually don’t keep my bread for over a week, but that’s mostly because it gets eaten quickly. Don’t store it in the refrigerator. Homemade bread stales faster when kept in a cold place.
Why Everyone Loves Wildgrain Bread
Best Bread Subscription Box
Wildgrain not only brings you bread, they also deliver fresh artisan pastries, sourdough loaves of bread, and hand-cut pasta. Like many delivery services these days, you can reschedule, skip, or cancel your delivery at any time. It’s a convenient way to manage the bread, pastries, and pasta you need.
To add to the benefits, Wildgrain delivers its goods in an eco-friendly cardboard box and insulation, so you don’t have to worry about hurting the environment. I always dislike when things are shipped in unnecessarily large containers or too much packaging!
The company also supports small business bakeries by supplying you with amazing loaves of bread and pastries from across the US. Responsible sourcing is an added bonus to this subscription. Who doesn’t love supporting the hard work of a local business?
As an added bonus, Wildgrain donates 6 meals for every membership they acquire. The donations are made to The Greater Boston Food Bank and benefit those who need food but can’t afford it. You can read more about it on Wildgrain’s Website!!!

My Experience with Wildgrain Bread Subscription Box
If you are a huge fan of bread and try to avoid products that aren’t healthy for you or add unnecessary calories to your meals, Wildgrain may be worth a try. My experience was mostly positive! The ingredients were clean, the pasta was fresh, and the pastries were delicious. I loved that everything only took about 25 minutes to bake and be ready.
I decided to try Wildgrain products for myself because I enjoy sourdough bread and fresh baked goods. I did burn the bread twice because my oven settings didn’t quite match those on the instructions and I should have been watching it more carefully. Be sure to watch the baking process in your oven since every oven is different. That first bake might be a learning experience. Once I got it right, the bread was amazing! I wasn’t disappointed with my first order.
